Bus 601 runs between Bordeaux and Lège-Cap-Ferret (40 min), stopping at Mairie Saint-Jean-d'Illac. It's an easy walk from the center of Saint-Jean-d'Illac.

The school is accessible by Intercités trains from Gazinet-Cestas station (15 min away), then by Proxibus lines. From Bordeaux by train: Paris (2h), Toulouse (2h) or Tours (2h).

ELISA Aerospace is located at the end of the runways at Bordeaux-Mérignac airport. These include Brest, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nantes, Paris and Rennes.

ELISA Aerospace is an aeronautical engineering school in Bordeaux, located in Saint-Jean-d’Illac, in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It offers innovative training programs for young people with a passion for aeronautics, space, the automotive industry, defense, future transportation, naval and rail. These scientific and technical skills and knowledge are essential if the sector’s major companies are to meet today’s challenges and guarantee their growth, both in France and abroad. The ELISA Aerospace campus Saint-Jean-d’Illac – Bordeaux

Located in France’s second-largest region for employment in the aerospace and defense sector, the ELISA Aerospace Saint-Jean-d’Illac – Bordeaux campus is designed for learning, working, living and relaxing. The Mérignac Aeropark, in the immediate vicinity of ELISA Aerospace, is home to some 300 major companies in the Aerospace & Defense sector. These include seven major industrial groups, such as SABENA Technics, THALES, DASSAULT Aviation, AIRBUS Atlantic and ARIANE Group, as well as 110 subcontractors. The aeronautical engineering school in Saint-Jean-D’Illac is close to Bordeaux-Mérignac airport and benefits from a secure network of cycle paths leading to the campus. The D’Elisa Aerospace Bordeaux campus accommodates engineering students on a 27,000 m2 site divided into four main buildings. Building A (4,000 m2) and Building B (3,000 m2) are reserved for teaching. There’s also an 800 m2 community building and the 800 m2 Agora. To enter the building, you have to pass through the 800 m2 agora, a large, totally transparent space where students can be welcomed, discussions can take place and models supplied by CNES can be displayed. The commune of Saint-Jean-d’Illac offers an exceptional setting for engineering students to enjoy a wide range of sports and leisure activities. The campus is accessible by bus 601 (Mairie Saint-Jean-d’Illac stop). Once in the center of Saint-Jean-d’Illac, it’s a short walk to the school. It can also be reached by intercity train from the Gazinet-Cestas station and by Proxibus lines.

Aerospace Engineering curriculum

This school for aeronautical and aerospace engineers in Saint-Jean-d’Illac offers high-level, multidisciplinary training delivered by professionals and experts in the industry of the future and in research. The Aerospace Science Engineering curriculum takes 5 years to complete, with the first two years spent in the preparatory cycle, followed by 3 years in the engineering cycle. During their second year in the engineering cycle (ELISA 4), students can choose from a number of specializations in addition to the core curriculum. For example, they can choose the Aeronautical Systems Engineering (ISA) option, the Missile and Space Systems Engineering (IM2S) option or the Cooperative Embedded Systems Engineering (ISEC) option. These options are chosen on a space-available basis. The diploma awarded by ELISA Aerospace at the Bordeaux – Saint-Jean-d’Illac site is recognized by the CTI (Commission des titres d’ingénieur) and confers a Master’s degree.

Bachelor of Science and Engineering

The Bachelor of Science and Engineering – Transport Industry program, launched in 2021 in response to the needs of industry, fits perfectly into the context of the fourth industrial revolution. Automation and supervision play a central role in the industry. Significant advances are being made with the arrival of innovation and technologies such as augmented reality, 3D printing and robotics. These are now an integral part of production processes. The bachelor’s degree offered by ELISA Aerospace Bordeaux, the school for aeronautics and aerospace enthusiasts, aims to develop students’ knowledge, skills and know-how through a balanced mix of work experience and multidisciplinary academic courses. The Engineering Assistant program offers students the opportunity to complete internships in companies. The final year of the program is a sandwich course, enabling assistant engineers to be operational in the company and assume their responsibilities once they have graduated. The Bachelor of Science and Engineering – Transport Industry is accredited as a Grade de Licence by the Commission de Titres d’Ingénieurs (CTI). The latter benefits from additional certification in partnership with the Union des Industries et Métiers de la Métallurgie (UIMM). Engineering assistant students will need to take the certificat de qualification paritaire de la métallurgie – Chargé(e) de projet industriel if they wish to broaden their knowledge in addition to the bachelor’s degree.
